Last weekend, hackers exploited a flaw in cPanel (cpanel.net), among the most popular Web hosting control panels, gain access to the networks of seven Web hosts. The attackers took control of hundreds, possibly thousands, of Windows-based machines using Internet Explorer.
Hackers injected iframe exploits into PHP pages located on the Web hosts’ servers, redirecting some visitors to sites off the hosts’ networks. The IE bug is related to the way the browser processes Web-based graphics code written in the Vector Markup Language, enabling hackers to install spyware and malware onto the computers of Internet Explorer users.
Bocan Raton, Florida-based HostGator (hostgator.com) was the first Web host to discover the attack, which lasted from late Thursday to Saturday afternoon.

Multiple Domains in One Account: Benefits and Risks
September 27, 2006
Today many web-hosting providers offer plans where you get an opportunity to host multiple domains in one account. You can find providers that offer somewhere from 6 domains to unlimited domains that you can host in a single account. Unlimited domains do not necessary mean unlimited hosting space (aka disc space). Some time you can host unlimited domains as long as you can fit them all in 30GB of space for example.
What are the benefits of having multiple domains in one account?
The answer to this question is simple: it will save you some money. Your monthly payment will be the same for multiple domains as it would be just for single domain. It can save you considerable amount of money to host few domains with the same host. Let say you have chosen a provider with a monthly plan at $6.95. If you host five other domains with the same provider it will save you $417 a year. This money can be used on promoting your site instead. When choosing a provider that will host multiple domains under one account you need to carefully review all your option since there may be some risks involved in hosting all your websites in one account.
What are the risks of hosting multiple domains in one account?
The risk of hosting multiple domains in one account generally related to a possible “down time” that can happened due to many factors. Some time as simple as severe whether in the area of your providers server. When choosing a provider you should factor in a possibility of server down time. If your website is meant to make you money, on day of server being down may cost you way more than $417. You need to decide if you can loose $417 or more just because your sites were down.
Treat your websites as you would treat your investment, do not put all your eggs in one basket. For your convenience we provided you a list of provider that host multiple domains:

4-10 Domains in One Account:

Fantastico Installer
September 14, 2006
Fantasctico is a script that allows you to install web based application directly from you cPanel. Many webhosting providers offer this script as part of your services. Generally it takes less than a minute to install an application via Fantastico script. Since our website is hosted by BlueHost, we will use their Fatastco Script as an example. Keep in mind that applications within Fantastico may vary and may not be up to date. Another reason we have chosen to provide BlueHost as an example is that their Fantastico script notifies you whenever an update to an application(s) is available so you can update to most current version.
When you log into your cPanel on BlueHost, you will find Fantasctico under Addons / Plugins menu. Generally Fatastico script represented by this smiley face icon:![]()
When you click Fantastico, you browser will bring you to the installation panel where you can choose from many different applications. Note that with Fantastico a MySQL database (where required) will be created, so you will need to assign database user when prompted.
Following is the list of applications available through Fantastico with BlueHost

Apollo Hosting: Linux vs Windows Hosting
September 14, 2006
We have recently updated Apollo Hosting Profile on our website. With this update you can see detailed plan information on Linux Shared Hosting as well as Windows Shared Hosting. If you are not sure which plan is better for you please read following.
When should I choose Linux Hosting?
If you do not need any of the Microsoft-specific applications, such as ASP, ASP.NET, MS SQL or MS Access databases, it is most likely that Linux hosting will be a good choice for you since majority of websites on the Internet are hosted on Linux servers.
When should I choose Windows hosting?
If you are absolutely certain that your website requires Microsoft-specific applications then Windows hosting will be your choice.

Choosing Web Hosting Provider.
September 6, 2006
So your web site is designed and ready to go live? In today’s market of web hosting solutions choosing the provider is not an easy task. What should you look for when choosing the right solution for your website?
Due to the competition in this area, providers often change plan configuration and prices. In fact it is not unusual to see a provider adjusting price, disc space and data transfer withing one month. It is necessary to do so in order to keep up with competition. Fortunately this can be good news for a web master looking for best deal.
Today most of the providers offer so called shared hosting to their clients. What it means is that they share the portion of their server disc space and data transfer with you. This also keeps their prices down; some times as low as $3.95 a month.
Dedicated Hosting offers you a choice of having the entire server to yourself. Of course due to the maintenance and operating costs this option is more expensive than the shared hosting.
It all comes down to your website/company needs. If you think your disc space and data transfer will greatly exceed the limit of shared hosting, your should consider dedicated server. Generally dedicated servers are good solutions for Web Hosting Resellers.
If your are not sure which solution is the best for you, we recommend starting slow. If your companies needs outgrow the capability of your current hosting plan, updating to different plan generally is easy.
Feel free to browse the rest of our website to compare prices and hosting plans of providers featured on our website.
