I was a customer of HostICan since 2008 and never had any issue with reliability or support, except for some minor issues. I was purchasing “VPS Extreme” up until last Friday.

I canceled all my services with HostICan due to major issue I run into when I attempted to use their 30 days money back guarantee. I paid for second VPS Extreme 6 Month of hosting ($519.70) but after 18 days I canceled and proceed to request refund, as advised on their page.

I’m right now over 2 month into trying to get my money back, I have communicated via email, support tickets, phone and even direct communication with company owner – all to no avail. They feed me with promises and nothing else. I have a detailed outline of how events got escalated on my blog if anyone interested in details but at this point my complains went to FBI, BBB and every other consumer protection place I could find.

The only thing I want to say – their hosting was good to me but their business ethics and their handling of customer leads me to recommend to stay as far away from them as possible. There are plenty of good hosts, so you don’t have to put up with a questionable one, no matter how good a value might seem.

I’ve been with HostICan for like 3 years, now. I will agree they had some issues in 2008. However, now in 2009 their support got amazing! I use to call and not get much. However, now I call and the phone is always answered, no matter the time. Its also all US based too!

Nothing but a pure pleasure to deal with. These guys totally rock!

DONT GO WITH HOSTICAN OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!

It really should be called HostICant. Their service is absolutely terrible. I first went on their Live Chat service (which actually isn’t around the clock as they claim) and talked to someone who was so rude. I was being nice asking for help. They said they couldn’t do it cos they weren’t tech, so I asked them whether they could get one over to help me on the live chat. they said they werent authorised to do that, so I asked whether they could ask their Manager to authorise them to do it. They gave me a farewell automated/canned response (I know it was canned because I use Live Chat at work) – they couldn’t even give me the common decency of even saying that their Manager was unavailable!

So I ended up emailing their Tech support, outlining the issue. Their Tech Representative emailed back saying that I could do it. I couldn’t – which they would have known if they actually read my email. Then I emailed back again outlining what I wanted – the person who read my email gave me the worst response ever. The next person FINALLY gave me the proper response I required.

Support my foot! They wouldn’t know what customer care was if something bit them on their arses!

Don’t go with HostICan. The only good thing about them is that they claim they have a money back guarantee. Let’s hope they do – otherwise all I can say is – Charge Back.

Support is always online is not true. I tried for hours and hours without any response. I have heard not so good news about Hostican. They ban websites for CPU Overload when there is none. My friend had lot of issues with them. Seems like they have overloaded servers. Why should we take the risk to host with them.

Hi, I have taken a Tera Host plan with them which offers “UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH”. Till yesterday all the videos were running fine. Now the videos play only for 1 minute and then stops. They have restricted my bandwidth. Is it not cheating???? Majority of popular websites including mine were pulled down for CPU Overload when in fact the cpu logs show some mysql queries running for 1 second???? Is it not cheating??? They have lot of downtime now and their servers are overloaded. The “FREE DOMAIN” is another instance of cheating. If you need control of your domain, like for example, changing nameservers, they will ask you to close your account. See the e-mail below: =============== We will able to provide you with EPP key for domain transferring after account cancellation only, because its promotion domain that comes for free along with account. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, Alex Hardin HostICan Representative =================== That means your website will be down for days if you are planning to transfer to a new host. Is it not cheating???? HOSTICAN SUCKS NEVER, EVER, HOST WITH HOSTICAN

So far so good. The only real beef I have with Hostican is that they ban referrals from Digg, so be advised of this if you are looking at them. Every other area of service and performance I am absolutely pleased with them.
