    Executive Summary
InMotion Hosting Technical Support (IHTS) uses questionable business practices in forcing clients to upgrade services. Services that were paid for in advance are being denied with any corrections to Absolutely All Books (AAB), LLC sites denied. IHTS prohibits any outside questions or interference of IHTS business tactics with threats to its customers of being incommunicative. Credit Card Service Protection is limited to 120 days from the date of transaction.

IHTS begins the complaint with a site or sites causing too many problems for InMotion Hosting’s (IH) servers and other sites on those servers; then IHTS suggests to the customer that an upgrade solution to a “better package” costing more money is available. This has happened twice now to AAB; the end result for AAB is account “deactivation by IHTS” and access to all websites, data and e-mail blocked.

AAB’s current “package” is 256M with dedicated memory 256M/1GB, 40 GB of hard drive space, with unlimited domains/websites at $479.40 per year. The next “package” is 512 MB for $74.95 per month and the top VPS is 1024 MB for $149.95 per month. AAB paid for one year of service under the 256M plan. No other options were offered or considered by IHTS.

Services that were prepaid for one (1) year in advance are being denied, any possible corrections to Absolutely All Books (AAB), LLC sites is denied, all facts are vague and/or convoluted without documented facts from an independent source. IHTS refuses to work with AAB in reaching any solution that does not involve additional payments to IH based on, “too much activity reported on the server.” IHTS will not provide the information of “which site is causing the problem” nor will IHTS provide access to any data that would enable AAB to find and/or identify the “problem site” and make corrections. The only solution provided by IHTS is, “…you will need to upgrade to a virtual private network (VPN) at $219 per month.”

In contacting InMotion Hosting, Charles Hardy, Customer Care Manager, IMH Management Team, 888-321-4678, 310-359-0211 (Fax), manager_feedback@inmotion.net , customer_feedback@inmotionhosting.com, I was told by Jenny of InMotion Hosting’s Billing Department that since I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General, State of Michigan that no one at InMotion Hosting (incommunicative) will talk to me now.

Credit Card Service Protection is limited to 120 days from the date of transaction. The customer may pay for one year of services but consumers will lose any credit card protection after the 120 days. This leaves the (global) merchant free to violate any contracts or agreements with impunity.

Solution: Services offered outside of the 120 days period should be denied or consumers are advised that protection is voided after the initial period and can refuse to pay in advance of the 120 day period.
