Network Solutions is overpriced and deceptive. They offer services that others provide for free (for instance web forwarding). A client of mine paid for their Enhanced Business Listing that leads you believe that you can add additional information about your company when a whois search is done on your domain. The information is added, but ONLY when you do a whois search through Network Solutions; doing a search through any other provider or service does NOT show your added information.

The hosting package is advertised to come with a free domain name. However the system does not apply this credit unless the domain is in the cart when you checkout with the hosting. If you already have a domain with them their system does not ask you if you want to apply the credit to that domain, nor does it keep track of you having a free domain if you purchase one in the future. You must call suport to have them apply the domain to any domains you have purchased or do purchase; but be sure to do it within 30 days of buying their hosting or the credit won’t be applied.

On top of all this, their rates are ridiculous! $34.99 is a bit pricey for a domain name. Do some research and you can find a fair price is around $10/yr. Their nsHosting Shared (Small-Unix) hosting rate ($119.50 as of time of writing) is comparable to what other companies are charging.

Before choosing this company, please do some homework on other providers. There are many out there, and while each have their quirks, you can surely find one that is more fair than Network Solutions. I have moved all my clients away from this provider and they will NOT be returning.

NEVER USE network solutions. They do not care about customer at all. When you call customer service, they just issue service request number.
And they do what they want. I renewed 3 year renewal on Mar 15 and cancelled right away after I found their service fee is too expensive.
Customer service representative said they would refund money but I got an e-mail that I have to use their service for 3 years according to their policy. Decision maker hide and send this kind of e-mail to me.
Then, I had to call customer service so many times and fight with them to get money back. Finally, they refunded my money. But, they deleted my web hosting service account on Mar 22 without any notice even thou my expiration date is May 26, 2011. I could not get any business e-mails.
I called customer service to recover web hosting service but I got only service request number. They sent me an e-mail that I must purchase new web hosting service package to recover it even thou they deleted my web hosting service account before expiration date of 5/26/2011.
They know that it is wrong but they just urge me to purchase new web hosting service package to recover web hosting service.
I had to fight with them 3 days. I could not get any e-mails while fighting.
Finally I purchased web hosting package thru other company to get my business e-mail. Network solutions hurt my own business. I run a small trading company. I can not run my company without e-mails. But, Network Solutions does not care about it. They just want to sell their web hosting package with hurting my business. I really like to sue network solutions if any lawyer can take this case.

Very poor hosting service they shut down our message board with over a 100,000 members since they said they did bit like the traffic we were getting.

So you get too much traffic so they suspend your account.
If you do business with them you will be left in the cold.

    STAY AWAY FROM THEIR HOSTING

Network Solutions is the worst! I transferred my .at domain away from them last year and every 2 months they charge me 69.99, then take 2 weeks to refund. So currently, I am out 140.00. I needed that money to pay bills etc. I was on the phone with a gentleman from the Phillipines who then tranferred me to his supervisor and still they could not help me. They blamed me for the mistake. Their system did not remove my domain from my account. Worst company ever!!!

Run as fast & as far away as you can from Network Solutions. we had our domain registered with them for many yrs.. Decided to give them a try at hosting, lost 30% of my annual fee after trying to get away from them in under 30 days. Terrible Customer Service, no technical support to keep up with all the sales. A big company does not always mean a good company. Now, we are stuck ‘trying’ to transfer our domain name to new host and do not truly expect it to actually happen. Will have to change our domain name along with all of our company printings containing our old domain name, now that is truly where our expense lies. Just run away at the mention of “Network Solutions”. It is too late for us!

Within last 3 weeks our access codes have been re-set 11 (!!!) times for “security reasons”.
I guess we ought to be grateful and feel incredibly secure, however the price we have paid for this has become unbearable. Due to not being able to deliver files to a client by the deadline, we lost a project and consequently that particular client.

We feel increasingly frustrated and feel embarrassed for having to apologize to our clients for their repeatedly denied access. The unreliable service makes doing our job impossible.

We receive no less thank 4 marketing emails from NS per week, yet we have not once been notified of an interruption of service. NOT ONCE!

Since NS outsourced the CS and TS call center to Philippines the customer service and technical support are now unbearable due to cultural (+other) differences. 70% of the call time is spent listening the representative robotically apologizing in every sentence and repeating the same sentence over and over again. I understand that this might be intended as an expression of courtesy, but in truth it’s utter waste of time and after the 30th apology, flat out annoying.

Nine years ago a phone call to NS was answered immediately, problems were promptly solved and the overall experience was so far above competition that it was worth paying more that for the competitors. Now I regrettably must say that NS is the worst and most unreliable vendor I conduct business with.
Was it greed that resulted in all this or simply a wrong hire to the top spot in the organization?

We have been with network solutions for a while now and believe me the only reason we are not changing is the added work that would be involved.
Most of our older clients and our own websites are hosted with network solutions and there is not a week that goes by that something goes wrong. Mail server stops working, website is offline for no reason.
Calling the support does not really help as they will always give you the same answer 1-3 business days to fix the problem. Can you imagine a business not able to get emails for 3 days??!! Ridicules!!
Right now our emails are not working for the 5th time this year alone. I would recommend all to seek other companies that are more stable and true to their costumers. Not once for losing business have they offered any form of compensation not once have they even apologized for their technical issues.
They use to be an excellent company but I believe they are far from excellence and maybe even given up perusing it

Since we moved our sites to their servers one month ago, we have opened 4 service tickets; three of which are still open, and the one resolved was simply to cancel an auto-renew account (yes, they let you sign-up for a hosting account, but you need to call and beg them to stop it from renewing every month).

We have sent several follow-up emails, but each response is canned support rhetoric. “We are committed to creating the best customer experience possible…” “You will be contacted within 24 hours…” Yes, we received an autoresponse, but no resolution.

Calling for technical support does little good because their level 1 support staff is not knowledgeable enough to help, and the request usually needs to be handed up the ladder to someone too busy to respond.

NetSol is great for the small business which doesn’t put too much stake in their Internet presence. If you rely on e-mail, web-catalog, etc., then look elsewhere.

My WordPress.org blog has been hosted on Network Solutions since I launched it in February ’08. I have been very pleased with the support provided. We have a company website that we have run on a different less expensive host since 2004 that we intend to move over to Netsol in the near future.

I’ve been with Network Solutions since early 2006. I started hosting my website there because I could manage all the setup tools myself; the tools have evolved over time to offer me even more flexibility- and best of all, I can have a professional and functional website without having to outsource the design.

Customer service has been very good when I have needed it; most of the time though, everything has run so smoothly, I rarely need to contact someone.

While I occasionally investigate other solutions, including hosted blogs on perhaps less expensive hosts and the like, I have to say that the ease of use of the Network Solutions web design tools and the stability keep me from switching. I occasionally hear complaints from friends about their website going down and host issues, but I can say I have never had that problem with Network Solutions.

I should also note that Network Solutions has been very supportive to Podcamp, a new media unconference I have helped organize, so I am very pleased with their interaction with the community as well. There are no real downsides to using Network Solutions, at least for me! I am a very happy customer!
