I have been using Yahoo small business for years with two different domains and have had very bad results. They con you in with a web page tool that turns out to be a very limited point and click gimmick that does not get you any internet traffic and when you find that out gues what they own your domain name witch makes difficult to start over with someone else. This is a worthless waste of my time and money. Do your self a favor and stay away from Yahoo small business I was told they sub out your domain to someone else they dont really have any controll over what happens with it. I hope this review saves your busniess from not being seen on the internet.

Yahoo! was an ok hosting service until I actually cared about my websites. They seem to target naive, personal and small business clientele who have no savvy about web hosting. Unfortunately, one of my websites was incorrectly configured through Yahoo!’s dubious security protocol and then blacklisted by Google. I had no control over the content, as they added additional .com title to my existing .com domain. Leaving me unable to change the content. I was left no access to my own copyrighted content, that was being published without my consent, with outdated information going to my customers. The customer service rep, though very sweet, was very confused by the issue and had to contact her higher level tech department. They then told me that my website security, and the new web address they created for it was from an old security firm they used, and do not have access any longer… However, they said it is still being submitted to search engines by Yahoo! (hence the blacklisting). When I tried to cancel my account online, their method for canceling is very obscure and non-intuitive, eventually leading you to renewing your services. I will now have to be on the phone with Yahoo! for another hr or two to figure out how to cancel my accounts with them. Oh, and like many others in this feedback… the prices have gone up and up without my knowledge!

I moved to yahoo!webhosting after they closed down geocities, because they gave a discount to geocities users & I also love their control panel. But because they are excusively aimed at businesses, they are going to be too expensive for me from this year, because the discount will not be applicable any more. Have had very good experiences with ease of use, but contacting them from the UK is a big hassle. There is no e-mail to discuss anything with them, and I’m not prepared to pay for an expensive phone-call to the US. Also, the price of the service varies according to the worth of the US dollar to the pound. So I’m going to switch to a UK host next month, which offers prices for home users rather than just businesses.

I have had a website with Yahoo Small Business for 2 years. It was easy to create and not a bad price. Though the price does continue to climb without notice to me. My issue came when I decided I no longer needed the service. The charge for 3 months had just come out of my account. I had received a credit a week later. I could not find a phone anywhere on the website and had to google it from another site. When I finally get ahold of someone they tell me there are no refunds. So I just paid for 3 months and have no access to my account and out of money. I’m upset and want others to know because I’m sure I’m not the first and won’t be the last. Oh, and they dont care. The guy talked to me like I’m idiot. I do NOT recommend yahoo small business or webhosting.

Yahoo terrible service, terrible customer service and I had to pay a lot for redelegation of my existing domain name when I already had a web hosting plan. Nothing I can do about it, and I can not call them as their number goes dead and they refuse to call or email me.

Think twice before dealing with them. We received a sales call from them where they innocently asked what our needs were and what our site name would be. Next thing we know, they registered our domain and signed us up for their service without our authorization. This is very bad professional behavior. And then of course, they would not release the domain name. DO NOT recommend dealing with them for this reason regardless of what they have to offer.

I have used Yahoo web hosting for at least 5 years. I have a 68 page web site. I have worked on it day and night linking and network linking. Buying graphics fr my pages, and perfecting the beauty of my web site. Then I log in one day and find out all of my 68 pages are corrupt!!! There is no way to edit my pages now. They tell this 63 year old lady she has to rebuild every page of her web site. They might as well tell me I have to rebuild my life.
If I pay to have it done it will cost me $1200.
My web site is worth more than $2000. I’m seriously thinking about forwarding my domain name to another hosting company and leaving Yahoo. I don’t think I have a recoarse with a law suit.

I’ve had Yahoo domain registration for five years (hosting is through a university server, so my domain redirects to that university). I was always happy with the service, never had issues with my site being down or unreachable and I found the control panel very easy to use. I was recently charged for a renewal and did not receive an email warning me this before the fact. I canceled as soon as I was notified of the charge. Contacted customer service and spoke to a very knowledgeable person after almost no wait. He was sympathetic and both explained why the problem had occurred (part my error in designating a little-used email address as primary, part theirs in that the email they normally send as a “you are about to be charged” did not go through) and offered me a partial refund. I’m really impressed with that level of customer service, especially for an issue where I was partially at fault! Also, they sent me the customer service phone number right in the original notification of billing email. I realize experiences with tech support and billing vary, but I disagree that Yahoo hides the number.

We signed up for Yahoo! Busness Solutions plan about 6 months ago and that was the best decision we made so far. Not sure I can agree with some of the above reviewers. Maybe the lower end of their web hosting plans are not as good, but when it come to run online store they really do an outstanding job. Big company like Yahoo! has needed resources to keep your site online 24/7 – and that is exactly what we receive from them.

one of the worst after sale service calling them for the last three days but havnt got any reply from them today i tried a another way ijst chose the new customer option and can you believe it is on the very first call i got areply may be they just had a system of chosing the option from existing or new customer but if u select a existing custome its just a fake and they only reply on the new customer option so pls check you all the existing customers when you want to talk to technical department chose the new customer option rather than existing customer to help you better.
