Bad Company, very poor service, no response after finally getting through and logging a ticket. The techs answering the phone are clueless, have to repeat over and over the problem and then cannot understand the thick Russian accents. MySql implementation on this host is horrific compared to other hosts that know what their doing. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Been with Gate (or it’s predecessors) for about 10 years now. No problems with probably 10 different web sites. Very little down time and good support when I had questions. I think those that are complaining work of other web hosts or perhaps their expectations are way too high. If there are problems, the ones that complain probably have poor html.

They bought out winsave.com (a cheap reasonable web hosting company). I had 3 websites with them and now they are under gate.com – now it’s nightmare.

-Their control panel is garbage – random errors all the time
    -Their phone support is garbage

-On the bright side – they are very fast at charging you

MySQL has been down on my site now for nearly two weeks. Tech support is slow, if they respond at all and issues arise all the time.

My databases have either been unresponsive or completely unavailable for the vast majority of the year. I’d be surprised if my site has been 100% fully functional for 50% of the time since year start.

If you’re looking for a host, stay away from this one. It’ll make you want to tear your hear out.

I’ll be transferring my site… just hope I don’t have the headaches that others have mentioned.

After months of my email being non-function, getting mysql errors from being crammed on an over-populated server I tried to move my domain off of their site. This has been a lesson is disaster.

They claim all the information is set up so I can transfer my domain out of their control, but this isn’t true. I’ve been trying for a month and a half to get off them but they keep giving the run around.

Gate.com is either run by the stupidest people in the world, or a bunch of crooks that employ stupid people to give them deniability. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

Horrible load times sometimes in the 3 minute range. Opened a ticket with them and never heard anything from them. Did my own trouble shooting and found that their SQL databases are the slowest ever causing my site to have load time of 3 minutes and when loading phpmyadmin it would take +30 minutes sometimes to load the databases. HORRIBLE!!!!!! DO RESEARCH DONT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. Not even sure how they are in business!

    gate.com RIPOFF
    BEWARE of gate.com

Evidently in their terms of service that you have to agree to; they can and do put their information in you domain information and then can change your domain registration company and renew without you saying anything and charge you almost 3 times the market cost even if you didn’t want to renew the domain. They do not care whatsoever about their customers and refuse to refund anything. Save yourself the headache, time, and MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

This was the saddest excuse for a hosting company that I’ve ever seen in 8 years of online business.

After ordering a dedicated server, the block of IPs which I received with it were all worthless as they were blacklisted on Spamhaus. I confronted them about giving me the blacklisted IP addresses, and they had the nerve to ask me to to fix their IP addresses for them. After argument, they replaced the IPs for me with more blacklisted ones. I repeated this same process twice before finally giving up.

When I requested a refund, they refused. After threatening a chargeback, they refunded all but my setup charge. I did a chargeback on the setup charge.

When it comes to business ethics, this company doesn’t understand the term.

Handing over useless IP addresses, asking your clients to fix your product for you, and refusing a refund because a client doesn’t want to do your job for you is not the way to run a hosting company.

I highly recommend you don’t sign up with this company. Just search google for “gator.com reviews” – the only good things ever said about the company are people who resell on their affiliate program.

Free Web Layout I have been with gate.com for a year, now. I’m tired of my site being down, and the lousy support. The features they offer are only nice if you site works. Nothing worse than having your site down when it is being spider ed, or when a person clicks a link. At least with the spider you know it will be back the next month. I have used site monitors and sent the results to there support team, which turned out to be a waist of time. The worst month I had was 78% uptime. As stated above emails don’t forward very well either, I think this is probably related to the downtime. I’m moving my site to another company this week, and I warn everyone I know about gate.com. They do offer a money back guaranty for the 99.99% uptime, if you send them proof that your site was down, lot of good that does. When you let them know about it they will not respond back to you. I have 4 sites, all with different hosts, and they are the worst host me or anyone I know have tried.

i have spent many hours on the phone, with long hold times, trying to get my domain email to be reliably forwarded to my ISP. their tech support team has opened and closed two separate incidents but the problem is still not solved. forwarding email is not rocket science.

    i do not recommend gate.com.
