I have been in this online business for quiet some time and have been using my website as an online marketing tool. Some of the biggest hassles in my online business have been the web hosting companies with which I have been associated all these years. I was not at all satisfied with the services of my previous web hosting companies. These un-satisfactory services led me to search for a more efficient and professional web hosting company and that’s how I came across VodaHost.

The low cost services, though, raised doubts in my mind regarding the quality of services, I still decided to give this web hosting company a try. Initially I was not sure that some of the features provided by VodaHost would actually work but after I became its customer, I found I could use the flash players, plug-ins and the other methods that are required to stay ahead of the curve. The important thing was that everything offered by VodaHost did work and with no hidden costs.

The uptime and better tech-support are an added advantage with web hosting company VodaHost. These parameters have accounted for my rise in sales and business. The biggest advantage for me of using VodaHost’s service is use of unlimited disk space and the transfer of as much data as you can. These features make VodaHost the best in the business of web hosting for me and relative to my previous experience they do stand apart from the rest. VodaHost has also helped me design one of the websites for my business in a way with their web builder, the BlueVoda.

I am now a regular user of VodaHost’s services and all through my subscription with VodaHost I have gained loads of experience. Other customers may not be sure of comparing the services of VodaHost with other web hosting companies but I am quite happy in saying that VodaHost is better than all those which I have used till now. For the time being I don’t need to look beyond VodaHost.

Obtaining opportunities by choosing the right web hosting company:

I’m a graphics artist student and I was looking for a place for hosting on the web, where I could place my work for others to see as well as gain experience in all the popular web trends that could help me in my developing career. I stumbled upon this great feature rich web hosting company that offered everything I would need to not just start my site but to really build my career on. The unlimited number of domain names, e-mails and bandwidth means I can use the same account for all my future customers. The PHP, Perl and MySQL support meant that I could begin straight away in learning how to program back-end websites.

The cPanel is full of features that’ll suit my future clients every need! It offers Joomla, Drupal and WordPress installation services, a perfect combination for me to get to grips with the latest trends in building websites and understanding how to manage them. There are also lighter web hosting features that can assist any budding web developer such as guestbook, forums and web form makers. Out of all the web hosting companies I looked at, none offered such rich features.

I was a little nervous at the beginning due to the large amount of web hosting features so I sent customer support a message (these guys have an email ticket system), there wasn’t much of a wait time and I was answered by a friendly member of staff who had described each web hosting feature in a professional manner. This surprised me as I was use to getting placed on hold as they got in touch with the tech support, a refreshing change for a web hosting company. When I first began designing sites I was clueless about some of the confusing terminology, fortunately the tech support team were very responsive, friendly and professional. They understood the ins and outs of web hosting and thanks to their help now I do to!

I was impressed by the affiliates program as it offers you a lot of money for just advertising the web hosting company and has a great commissions and sub-affiliates scheme. This is an excellent scheme to advertise for a great web hosting company and also makes me a little money for my beer!

    I FOUND MY NITCH

When I was shopping around for web hosting suppliers, I found what I needed at fewer than eight dollars a month; Which isn’t bad. There are a vast number of web hosting suppliers available online and when you stumble upon the right one for you, it’s a happy feeling to know the search is over. The services I’ve received so far will make me a repeat customer. It’s not often you can find unlimited disk space and unlimited data transfer services for a reasonable price. Combine this with the professionalism that is not just helpful, but thorough in every way, and you’re onto a winner!

If you are looking for a web hosting company, I recommend these guys. I was able to get my feet on the ground in a fast and effective way with my website. As an online merchant, I appreciate the SSL certificate and the easy-to-use software that this web hosting company provides.

As far as customer support goes, the tutorial videos and the support forum have turned out to be a big help. I have gotten my questions answered pretty quickly each time. Web hosting does not have to be complicated or a headache; in fact, it can be really straightforward! Something that I really found consumer-friendly is the many different services provided. Web hosting has been made really simple and affordable through cost-effectiveness and a wide range of services.

I have found a one-stop shop in my web hosting search and am grateful that all of my online merchant needs have been met. I’ll take this web hosting company any day over one that leaves out the support forums and customer-friendly software! At last, I have found my nitch and can get on with focusing on my orders through my website and not have to worry about if the web hosting company will be one that is supportive of me as a consumer.

I think the service I’ve gotten from these guys has been top-notch. I didn’t need much convincing when I decided to find a web hosting company to host my transcription site. All of my online friends were using their services of so I figured I was going to use them too. Besides I had never heard anything bad about them or their web hosting services. All my friends seemed happy with what they were paying for.

At $7.95 a month, their web hosting features are really neat. No other web hosting company that I’ve looked at comes close although in truth I haven’t needed to use them. Starting with the big website building help from the downloadable BlueVoda site builder to the 99.9 percent reported site up-time (I haven’t noticed my site being down), I’m really happy they give you as big an advantage as possible with their unlimited disk space, unlimited email accounts and add-on domain names, unlimited data transfers, and shopping cart features. I’ve used the support ticket system, online knowledge base, and a flash learning tutorial and all were really helpful.
No one’s had a problem accessing my entries and contacting me as my email features are good and were pretty simple to set up. I have spam assassins, auto responders, and mail forward features, so everything is taken cared of when I’m getting in touch with my clients.

I give ‘em two thumbs-up! Haven’t had any of the problems above. I reckon made the right choice in choosing them as my web hosting company.

I am a teacher. In 2007, I spent three months developing a comperhensive Website for use in teaching and contacting students. I contracted with VodaHost to carry the site on their servers. At some point in 2008 (believed to be sometime around June 2008), VodaHost took my site down and destroyed all the information carried on my Webpages. The reason give for removing my Website was: “non-payment of monthly subscription.” The monthly subscription was paid through PayPal; the account shows that not one payment was missed from the time the subscription was initiated and December 2008. VodaHost’s support personnel in sales and billing refuse to give an accounting of my VodaHost account to show when, if any, payments were missed, and refuse to tell me what has happened to the data on my Website. The only responses I get from VodaHost are flippant and provide virtually no answers to the questions I have asked (copies of their recent e-mails can be made available). I believe VodaHost is headquartered in the US Wilmington DE or Baltimore, MD. However I can get no information about the company and its officers from any source on the Web to pursue and/or resolve this matter. I want to recover 1) the development costs for the Website and 2) the subscription fees VodaHost accepted from PayPal after the Websit was taken off the Internet. Total value of VodaHost mismanagement is approximately $9,000.00

We purchased a domain and web hosting service in 2007. When the new invoice came due it stated for web hosting and domain. We paid this invoice in full September of 2008. We have the credit card statements to prove this. This company then took our money and within 30 days canceled our site and then sold our domain to another person. They said we could find out who bought it and buy it from them. I believe they have it and are using this as extortion. They say it is not their fault that the invoice gives the impression that the domain is paid by the wording. We have copies of all invoices. We never received a separate billing for the domain name. This is deceptive to anyone purchasing from them and intentional. They hold domain names hostage basically. To late I checked the BBB and found they have an ‘F’ rating. They don’t give a damn about you as a customer.

After several back and forth e-mails they tell us they will give a another one (different than the one we had) for free. We paid for this service so how is it free? The one they can give us won’t do any good because our advertisement is for the previous one. They say to bad.

Don’t do business with these people…they are thieves. They will bill your credit card, take the money, cancel your site then tell you to bad so sad…no refunds sucker!

    Thanks John.

I am not saying that it is not possible, I just don’t know how. I also remember reading a blog saying they lost things. I have gone in to my blue voda, and all my photos are missing from my pages, though not on the web site. Also, my Blue Voda files couldn’t be opened in Blue Voda for a while. I am not all that savvy, as if I needed to tell you.

I appreciate your help. If you can elaborate that would be great. I should down load to a disk or to external hard drive. When you change hosts you just place an order and they set you up? Is there down time? Would you recommend any particular host?

I can’t remember how it worked with my domain name. I hope there will be no problem with that. I like the Blue Voda, it is just the customer service stinks.

    Thanks again.
    Juli

    Juli,

Maybe you should consider using a different site authoring software. With many open source content management systems, there is surely one that can satisfy your needs. How about Joomla?

Just make sure your back up your current pages. I have never used VodaHost but it is strange when a hosting company uses “special” authoring tools that make it difficult to switch to another provider.

From what I understand BlueVoda publishes pages as HTML files so it should not be difficult to save a back up.

  • Juli says:

I agree with the above 100%, the worst, nastiest. rude, profane group of customer service people ever. They seem to have the power to mess you up if they piss you off.

I have a question if anyone can answer. I am nearly up to my year with Voda Host, I probably have more than 60 days, but not much. How and what do I need to copy in order to keep BlueVoda builder? How will I use my CPanel? since you have to go through their log in to access. How do I switch to another Host?

Oh, NOOOO, I did not number my questions, they hate it when you don’t number you questions. And to notify you they respond without answering the question, and speak in a very condescending manor.
    Thanks,

I got vodahost back when their servers were fresh, support was a little less feisty, and the TOS did not require you to pay a yearly subscription even if you did not ask them to.

Since then alot has changed, Customer Service has gone down the drain, linking me to sites with profanities such as “a-hole” and “bitch” and “fucking,” which are all aimed at the reader. These sites also contain very concerning phrases such as “break your legs” and “piece of shit.” I am sorry to have to share such words with you.

Their support also takes several days to reply to questions in their independantly run (meaning that no externalities are involved) support database. It is very well to run your own database for support, providing you do not abuse it. Please reply to customers questions! And if you do so, do so APPROPRIATELY.

Their “TOS” or Terms of Service are very vague, offer the breaking of the contract with 7-days notice (or that was how short it was when I last looked,) and the inability to break the contract yourself without requesting “permission” to do so.

Their features are offered, yay fantastico, yay mysql, yay PHPBB, and yay CPanel. Why won’t these run at suitable speeds? Oh the processor is red-lining 24/7 – that explains my customers distress. Sure they have good software, but the hardware is over used – Vodahost over-host. I also have not yet received my 300gb data transfer rate or my ever changing storage limit, which was said to be 200GB when I arrived, and has gradually fluctuated down to 50GB, while my account has never allowed consumption of more than 15GB despite several requests at the Help Desk.

If one posts a slightly concerning post in their forum, eg. the fact that their server CPU status is critical and PHP won’t run, the person involved in the posting gets a minimum of a 20-year ban, plus a free phone call, thats right, one that they would not give you prior to now, even on request. The phone call may contain some fowl language, be sure to listen to it without children in the house.

I have been charged for a further years hosting much to my disgression, Please, PLEASE if you do want to use them, sign up for a month, then if you don’t notice any problems sign up for a year, but when signing up, PAY BY CASH! They WILL use your credit card details if your request is not “within a suitable time” of your next billing period. For me this was 23 days, which I would concider enough days warning for any annual cancellation.

So of you go to them, watch out. Stay agile, and Read the TOS for any changes, keep a hard copy of it from when you sign up, and DON’T LOSE IT.

If you leave with anything from this review, leave with my information. You are free to sign up to vodahost and try them out, but their 100% guarantee comes with not refund, and their 30 day trial “was never available” even though it said all over their website for several months after my sign up. BE CAREFUL
